Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how The Creative Technician ("we," "us," "our," or "Company") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with our website, services, and interactions with you.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices. Please read this Policy carefully.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
We collect information you voluntarily provide, including:
- Contact Form Data: Name, email address, selected service and project message. Organisation, phone number, budget and timeline are optional.
- Enquiry Source: Campaign tags in the page URL and the referring website hostname are included with a submitted enquiry so we can understand how you found us.
- Booking Information: Information you choose to provide through an external booking link, when available
- WhatsApp Communication: Messages sent via our WhatsApp link
- Email Communication: When you email us at willardwells@gmail.com
- Service Inquiries: Details about your project or service needs
2.2 Technical Information and Optional Analytics
- Website operation and security: Hosting and form-delivery services process technical request information. The contact form uses your IP address for rate limiting to help prevent abuse.
- Analytics, only after you accept: Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics and Vercel Analytics may receive page views, interactions, referral information and device/browser information. Analytics events include interactions with service links and the enquiry form; we do not include the name, email, phone number or message fields in these events.
- Preference storage: We save your analytics choice in this browser's local storage. See Section 7 for controls and limits.
2.3 Providers That Process Enquiries
Our form uses the configured email provider, Resend or Brevo, to deliver enquiries and send a confirmation. When contact storage is configured, your name and email may also be saved in a provider-managed leads list. An optional workflow integration may receive the full enquiry, including the source information, for follow-up and record keeping, for example through n8n or Zapier into a Google Sheet.
These providers process information so we can receive, organise and respond to your enquiry. Submitting the contact form is not a subscription to marketing emails.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiries and provide customer service
- Schedule consultations and service delivery using the booking service offered, if applicable
- Send service proposals and updates (with your consent)
- Improve our website and services using analytics when you have accepted it
- Comply with legal obligations and protect against fraud
- Market our services (only if you opt-in)
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR/Data Privacy)
We process your data based on:
- Contract: To provide services you've requested
- Consent: When you explicitly agree
- Legitimate Interest: To improve our services and protect our business
- Legal Compliance: To meet regulatory requirements
5. Data Retention
- Contact inquiries: Retained for 2 years or until service completion
- Project files/deliverables: Retained per service agreement (typically 1-3 years)
- Email lists: Retained until unsubscribed
- Analytics data: Retention depends on the analytics provider and configured settings. Withdrawing consent stops future collection through this website; it does not automatically delete data already received by a provider.
- Analytics preference: Kept in this browser's local storage until you change your choice or clear site data. Analytics cookies have their own expiry periods; you can also remove them in your browser settings.
6. Your Data Rights
6.1 Access & Portability
You have the right to request a copy of your personal data we hold. Email: willardwells@gmail.com
6.2 Correction & Deletion
You can request corrections to inaccurate data or deletion of your information, subject to legal requirements.
6.3 Opt-Out
- Marketing emails: Click "unsubscribe" in any email
- Analytics: Open Cookie settings in the website footer and choose Reject analytics, including if you previously accepted.
- Browser storage: Manage or clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings.
6.4 Withdraw Consent
You may withdraw analytics consent at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. For other consent-based uses or questions about data already collected, contact us.
Response time: 30 days for data access requests
7. Cookies & Tracking
7.1 Remembering Your Choice
We use the local-storage key ct-analytics-consent-v1 to remember whether you accepted or rejected analytics. This preference is stored on your device and is not itself an analytics cookie. It applies to the current browser; other browsers or devices need their own choice. If browser storage is unavailable, your choice may last only for the current page session. To keep analytics off after you withdraw consent when the main preference cannot be saved, the site may use a temporary session-storage rejection preference or an analytics=off parameter in the page URL.
7.2 Optional Analytics
Google Analytics, Ahrefs Web Analytics and Vercel Analytics are disabled until you explicitly choose Allow analytics. Declining analytics does not prevent you from reading the site or sending an enquiry. Analytics includes cookie-based tracking where used by a provider and analytics that does not use cookies.
7.3 Accepting, Rejecting or Withdrawing Consent
- Choose Allow analytics or Reject analytics in the consent notice.
- Use Cookie settings in the footer to reopen these controls whenever you want.
- When you withdraw consent, the site saves your rejection, removes known first-party Google Analytics cookies where accessible, and reloads the page to stop analytics scripts already running.
- Withdrawing consent does not remove information previously sent to providers or cookies the site cannot access. You can clear remaining cookies and site data through your browser settings and contact us about previously collected information.
- Clearing site data removes the stored preference. Analytics stays off until you accept again.
8. Security Measures
We implement reasonable security practices to protect your data:
- SSL/HTTPS encryption on all pages
- Secure form validation to prevent unauthorized access
- Limited staff access to personal information
- Regular security reviews of third-party integrations
Note: No online system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and report suspicious activity.
9. Third-Party Links & Services
Our website may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Please review their privacy policies before sharing information.
