In order for you to be born, you needed: • 2 parents • 4 grandparents • 8 great-grandparents • 16 great-great-grandparents • 32 third great-grandparents • 64 fourth great-grandparents • 128 fifth great-grandparents • 256 sixth great-grandparents • 512 seventh great-grandparents • 1,024 eighth great-grandparents • 2,048 ninth great-grandparents • 4,096 tenth great-grandparents
That’s 8,190 people — at least — just in the last 300 years.
Now pause and really think about that.
How many struggles did they face? How many decisions had to go just right? How many things could’ve gone wrong — but didn’t?
How many of them moved to a new town? Or changed their last name? How many loved deeply? Or lost everything and kept going?
And how many of them, in some quiet moment, looked up at the sky… and hoped that someone down the line would have a better life?
They didn’t know your name. But they still made the next move. And then the next.
And now, here you are.
All of that — centuries of choices, change, and resilience — led to you. You’re not here by accident.
Right now, in some unseen way, your ancestors are cheering for you. They’re proud you’re here. They’re grateful you exist. They’re rooting for you to make the most of this life they’ve handed down.
So don’t waste it. Be worth the story. Live in a way that would make them nod and say, “Yes. That was the point.”
